Meredith Barlow, C/EqDT is the owner and operator
of Equidentistry. Meredith provides dental care for horses
across the state of Virginia, as well as horses in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, Arizona, and South Carolina. She works exclusively with veterinarians to ensure your horse
is provided with the best care possible. Most horses are sedated so that
dental procedures can be done correctly and thoroughly. Sedation is
ALWAYS done by the veterinarian. The veterinarian can also determine, in
the event that more than routine care is needed, whether to prescribe
pain management, antibiotics or other medications. They are also able to
take radiographs (xrays), if needed. They are also able to provide full
service ambulatory and routine veterinary care. However, if you are out
of our routine practice are we do require you have a regular
veterinarian for emergencies and routine work. Meredith is a graduate of the American School of Equine Dentistry, as
well as a Certified member of The International Association of Equine
Dentistry. She is also licensed by the Virginia State Veterinary Board
to practice as an Equine Dental Technician. Meredith is not a
veterinarian.
She has been involved with horses since she was 10
years old, and currently has 4 horses, Nanna Storm, Mare E Christmas,
Storm Watch and Zanzibar's Liberation. She also fosters a horse named
Suzie for a local rescue. Meredith currently shows Storm Watch on the
hunter circuit.
Meredith travels all over the country, and is
routinely called in by veterinarians for special cases. Please call or
email to see if she travels to your area
